As the computer technology developed rapidly, informatization ofmanufacturing industry has become a trend necessarily. Daily business activities inmanufacturing enterprises will produce a lot of information, enterprise managers hopeto extract useful knowledge from this information to help enterprises to makedecisions, business intelligence is their choice. For most companies, a simple SQLquery statement cannot meet the needs of decision makers. And with the datawarehouse, on-line analytical processing,and data mining techniques based onbusiness intelligence technology, with its powerful analysis data and situationalawareness, has been more and more the attention of the decision-makers.According to enterprise’s business objectives, business intelligence is a largenumber of business data analysis and mining, transforming it into a definiteinformation, based on the fact, able to perform, and enables the business personnel tofind occurrence trend of equipment failure, and at the same time also can find out thefactors influencing the failure long. Not only that business intelligence can helpenterprise managers to understand the operating condition, to make better decisions.This thesis come from the study of LianCheng Company’s equipmentmanagement system failure information management module.Firstly,this article introduces the history, the concept and the development ofbusiness intelligence, then introduces the present equipment failure informationmodeling In manufacturing and the necessity of equipment failure informationmodeling, and then introduces the three core business intelligence technology, datawarehouse, on-line analytical processing and data mining techniques in detail.Secondly, according to the manufacturing enterprise’s production demand isgiven based on business intelligence technology basic scheme of equipment failureinformation modeling, namely, design the data warehouse, and then design aconceptual model. Logic model, physics model, according to the physical modelconstruction of multidimensional model of fact table and dimension table.Inestablishing a good on the basis of a large number of fact table and dimension tables using SQL Server2008Analysis Services implement multi-dimension Analysis anddata mining Analysis of equipment failure information. Find out the abnormal ofequipment and the equipment maintenance of the law, and the equipment in the nextyear has made the forecast analysis, the amount of downtime time help managementto strategic decision making, to improve the efficiency of the company, played animportant role.Finally, this article uses the web module for data in Visual Studio2008to showthe result and the way to display the analysis results of data mining. The Displayeffect of Visual Studio2008is simple and clear intuitive, decision makers canunderstand them easily without too much IT knowledge..
