Portable remote ECG monitor system is a kind of new monitor equipment based onthe mobile wireless networks. The system is composed of several portable monitorterminal devices, mobile wireless communication networks and hospital monitoring centersystem. After years of development, portable remote monitor system has been improvedconsiderably. However, most of traditional mobile monitor systems,employing GPRS orCDMA1x network as these mobile communications network suffer from low transmissionspeed and poor signal stability. With the development of network, software and hardwaretechnology, the remote monitor system must be improved.This paper summarizes the domestic and foreign research work, utilizes the3Gmobile communication network as framework to research the portable monitor terminaland the hospital care center. The portable monitor terminal uses SIM5216as itscommunication module which has low transmit power and excellent stability. With othercircuits, this system can realize the collection and transmission of the signal andcommunication with the machine. The hospital care center uses network and database technology to realize functions such as reception, storage of ECG and the transmission ofadviceThis paper focuses on three aspects as follows:1、Finish the hardware design of the remote care system, which uses SIM5216as itsnetwork module, the module is connected to CPU through half-serial port, and is able towork well under the modes of command and data communication. The care system alsoincludes the preprocess system of ECG and the embedded hardware system. Thepreprocess system utilizes methods such as amplify and filter to process the ECG, fetch thesignal whose frequency is between0.05to100Hz and, send the signal to sample circuit.The embedded hardware system uses S3C2440as its CPU, other hardware such as Sdram,NandFlash and touch screen are included.2、Finish the software design of the portable care unit. The system kernel isconfigured for its support for PPP, and necessary files are added to the file system to makesure the module be connected to Internet when it is powered on, be reconnected wheneverdropped. The TCP is used to realize the data interaction. In addition, the monitor terminalalso has functions such as signal collection and the doctor’s advice management.3、Finish the design of the hospital care center system. TCP server process iscreated to listen to the requests from patient terminal. A connection and data transmissionwill be created when a request is catched. The center system utilizes SqlServer databasedriver to establish patient information table, ECG information table and warning tablerespectively for the management of data. Hospital terminal also has certain diagnosticfunctions, such as the judgment of tachycardia, premature beat, cardiac arrest and otherillness by analyzing the heart rate. After diagnosis, doctors will send advice to the portablemonitoring terminal.Innovations in this thesis are listed below:1、Introduce the3G mobile communication technology to the mobile monitor systemto provide a real-time wireless monitoring method, and to ensure the system work wellwithin the coverage of mobile communication network.2、Establish hospital monitor center system which is suitable to the portable care terminal. TCP server object is used to listen to the requests from the portable terminal.Explore method for the storage of ECG, combine the database and file system to realizethe storage and playback of ECG.3G mobile network communication technology can be applied to the monitor for avariety of heart diseases such as various arrhythmias, ischemic heart disease, conductiondisturbances, and the care of patients in and after operation. The system also can be usedfor the transshipment of patients, mitigation of ICU resource constraints. The clinicalapplication of3G technology is of great importance for the improvement of healthconditions and the guarantee of medical safety.
