With the rapid development of the network technology, the computer technology and theWeb technology, the scale expansion of the enterprise and the improvement of automatizationand informatization, the shortcomings of traditional monitoring systems are becomingincreasingly remarkable. For instance, the security of data transmission in the network can’tbe guaranteed and the database server is vulnerable to attack; the real time requirement of datarelease can not be satisfied and the cover scope is restricted. Therefore, research anddevelopment of modern remote monitoring systems, which is not limited by the position andtime, are imperative.Based on analysis of the background, the related works of monitoring systems and theshortcomings of traditional monitoring systems, the solution of modern remote monitoringsystem in the B/S structure is constructed by Internet and WEB technology. The whole systemadopts three layer architectures: data acquisition layer, data processing layer and data showinglayer. After thorough analysis of functions in each layer, the data acquisition terminal and themonitoring center software are designed. With the RL-TCPnet network protocol stack andembedded Web technology, Field data acquisition terminal achieves the real time dataacquisition and transmission. The terminal configuration is simultaneously made by browser.The monitoring center software, which is realized by MySQL database management systemand WEB page technology, achieved real-time data storage and display of status informationon WEB page. The system is of high real time, operation and flexibility. As the result, theefficiency of operation and maintenance is effectively improved. In the mean time, the cost ofoperation and maintenance is reduced, and remote monitoring and fault early warningthroughout the scattered unattended equipment and production process are realized. Thesystem is stable and reliable in the practical application and is of good prospect.
