With the continuous development of wireless network technology and sensortechnology, the application of wireless sensor network is more and more extensive. For alimited data processing condition of sensor network node, this paper proposes a design ofwireless sensor network node based on the SOPC technology. This node combines theflexibility of the traditional node and the high-speed and customizability of Nios IIprocessor. All these specialties achieve a more advantageous sensor node.Firstly, this paper studies the characteristics and applications of wireless sensornetwork and SOPC technology, analyzes the feasibility of wireless sensor network nodebased on Nios II, proposes the overall design solutions, also uses the temperature sensormodule in this new node.Secondly, the hardware system of sensor data acquisition module is designed. WithNios II processor as a core, this system equips with an external memory, serial andcustomized temperature sensor module. This paper establishes the Nios II system,configures the parameters and constrains timing.Again, on the basis of the system hardware design, software design is carried out.This paper proceeds further study of the hardware abstraction layer system libraries, alsocompletes the UART driver development. The node achieves the collection of the sensorinformation, the communication between Nios II system and CUTEBOX node, and thewireless data transceiver of CUTEBOX node.Finally,the system of sensor node designed is tested in this paper. It proposes atesting program for data processing capabilities about Nios II processor, also points outthe communication error rate testing program and temperature monitoring testingprogram. It also completes the performance test about system of this new node, wirelesscommunication error rate testing and temperature testing, and analyzes the experimentalresults. The designed sensor node are not only with high-performance and low error ratefeatures,but also with high-capacity and easily extended features.
