Confucius, who is Chinese great educator, proposed chant reading teaching as a kind of teaching way early in two thousand years ago. Not only chant reading can cultivate listening, speaking, reading and writing ability, but also develop intellectual and implement aesthetic education, and the ability of creativity. It ultimately develops the students’ ability of autonomous learning. Although the "curriculum standards" and the language teaching syllabus have repeatedly stressed the teaching way of chant reading teaching, nowadays we can see that the chant reading integrating into the teaching of the classroom is getting less and less, which has to arouse the concern of the community.Through the investigation of the present situation of Chinese chant reading teaching in primary school, despite chant reading teaching in Chinese classroom has got some achievements, but problems still outstanding. The time of chant reading is difficult to guarantee and teachers ignore the essence of chant reading teaching and mainly to the test. Teachers cannot become the sample of chant reading and lack of guidance on students’ chant reading. The essence of this series of problems is that teachers’ and students’ chant reading is not following with the times, the teacher’s reading skills should be improved and they ignored the cultivation of students’ interest.Above all, the paper will be divided into three parts, the first part: discriminating the concept of chant reading, the concept of chant reading and Chinese chant reading teaching of primary school, analyzing the characteristics of chant reading teaching,and according to the 2011 version of the "compulsory education course standard of Chinese" to explain the chant reading teaching requirements. The second part: by using the method of questionnaire investigation, to understand the implementation of the current chant reading teaching in the language education of primary school.Analyzing from multiple aspects of the problems and providing some practical basis for the chant reading teaching strategy which proposed in this study. In the third part, the author puts forward the strategic guidance to the present situation of the lack of chant reading teaching.On the basis of previous research, papers put forward their views and expect to change the strategy of Chinese chant reading teaching situation in primary school and play the role of sponsor of chant reading teaching in primary school.
