As the first stage of receiving systematic learning in life,it is undoubtedly of great practical significance for primary school students to cultivate their awareness and ability in autonomous reading.Objectively speaking,primary school is always a key period in one’s life to develop good reading habits.Meanwhile,teachers,parents and schools shall play their own roles and actively help students develop good autonomous reading habits in this process.However,in terms of the current situation of primary school students’ reading ability in China,there is a certain room and some potential for improvement in both practical and theoretical aspects.In particular,during the process of carrying out the reading teaching practices of primary school,front-line teachers lack necessary theoretical guidance,carry out class teaching by only relying on the past teaching experience,and superficially master the related teaching theories and strategies and choose the content and methods of reading teaching randomly,which seriously influence the further improvement of the teaching quality.Therefore,in order to better understand the main factors affecting primary school students’ autonomous reading ability,this paper researches the current situation and cultivation of higher grade students’ autonomous reading in a demonstration primary school and ordinary primary school by adopting the questionnaire survey method,which is shown below specifically:In the first part of the overview of the related theories of primary school students’ autonomous reading ability,the related concept definitions,of reading ability,autonomous reading and autonomous ability,related theories of autonomous reading,characteristics of the autonomous reading ability of Chinese teaching in primary schools and specific performance of higher grade students’ autonomous reading ability in primary schools are summarized and concluded in detail.In the second part,the current situation of cultivating higher grade students’ autonomous reading ability in two schools are understood subjectively and specifically according to the questionnaire survey on students,parents and teachers in demonstration primary school A and ordinary primary school B,and the causes of these problems in the cultivation of higher grade students’ autonomous reading ability in primary schools are analyzed from the aspects of students,parents,teachers and schools.In the last part of the strategies of cultivating higher grade students’ autonomous reading ability in primary schools,some countermeasures and suggestions are provided to solve the problem of cultivating higher grade students’ autonomous reading ability in primary schools from the aspects of stimulating students’ reading interest and potential,innovating the methods of guiding reading,constructing the family-school linkage mechanism and optimizing teachers’ traditional evaluation methods.Besides,a solid theoretical support is provided for front-line teachers to carry out the practices of reading teaching,and new thoughts for the development of research work in related fields are proposed.
