Under the urbanization trend all over China, one of the main ways to achieve urbanization is Farmers Concentrated Residential Area. On the surface, Resettlement Community Residents just change the way of living, but in fact it is the radical change of the social ecosystem. This thesis aims at presenting the daily routine in everyday life of the residents from the microscopic perspective and making analysis of their identity. Under the background of social transition in China, as well as Chongqing is the "National comprehensive reform pilot area integrating urban and rural”,recording a typical resettlement community——Z Residential Community of District B in Chongqing,——Leaving a experience text, which is something about the concentrated residential area’s residents or “Agricultural to Non-agricultural” Residents, this work itself is of great significance and value. This article includes three parts:Part One is Introduction. Chapter One introduces the background of the study, the research questions,the purpose and significance of the study;Chapter Two is Literature Review,which conducts literature review on the relevant literatures, it mainly includes the related concept definition, progress of research both at home and abroad. Chapter Three is the research design, including relevant theoretical basis of this article, theoretical assumption made which is based on the theory and the field survey, and explaining the research methods adopted.The second part is the main body of the thesis. Chapter Four mainly introduces Z Residential Community of District B in Chongqing, makes microscopic analysis of the residents’ daily life, including the community environment, the formation background, current situation of the community and residents’ microscopic living pictures, etc. Chapter Five the presentation of self in everyday life of the residents,on the basis of the previous chapter,it is to reveal the residents’ conception of self in the specific situation and to distinguish their self—classification. By borrowing Erving Goffman’s dramaturgical theory, this chapter present the public and Interior space of the resettlement community. Chapter Six spatial perception and subjectivity, the construction of identity with subjective factors is to be analyzed. According to social identity theory, identity construction will experience such a mental process :Categorization- > Identification- > Comparison- > Psychological Distinctiveness, the author aims at describing the subjective choices,interpersonal interaction, the space experience, etc. of the resettlement community residents, meanwhile, their reference groups(real and imagined) will be considered. Chapter Seven shape duality of identity of the residents: farmer — citizen(identity system), is to make analysis of identity construction with the objective factors by borrowing the framework of social identity theory. The transformation of agricultural Hukou to non 一 agricultural Hukou institution,the treatment, the settlement system in Chongqing at present stage and other external element will be taken into account.Part three is the conclusion part of this article. Chapter Eight gives conclusion,the main conclusion gained from the research :(1)compared with other communities in the city, the resettlement community has a boundary. The concentrated distribution of population and its weak heterogeneity and other features indicate the urbanization of this area has not achieved yet at present.(2)The self-presentation of residents reflect their identity is in a continuum. The identity of different generations(Aged/ Middle aged/Youth generation) are differentiated in the resettlement community.(3) Social identity of the residents is in duality.(4) the author gives a simple discussion and study prospect, makes a reflection on the limitation of this article.
