According to Erikson’s personality development stage theory, senior high school freshmen are in a critical period of formation and development of self-identity. On the one hand, the inner instinctive impulse will cause confusion to them, on the other hand the new living environment, knowledge system and the social requirement will make them into chaos, especially key senior high school students, most of them are the outstanding students in their classes from their childhood, the pride of the parents, if they can’t adjust, adapt to the environment in the face of new environment, it is easy to produce psychological problems. So the main task of this period is to establish a new self-identity, to avoid role confusion. The feeling of this unity is also a growing confidence, the inner continuity and the self-identity forming in the past experience(a personal psychological self).Sand play therapy is an international popular psychological intervention, autonomy and spontaneity is the basic characteristics of sand table games, nonverbal communication and symbolic significance is the essence of sand table games. This method is especially suitable for senior high school freshmen who is not easily to open their heart to strangers in adolescence.So it is significant for the research of the self image of the characteristics of senior high school students to the healthy development of students. This research with the aid of the self-esteem variable using sand table games technology to study the key high school freshman self image. The results of the study are as follows:(1) The number of using traffic class(roadblocks, fences, etc.) sand group with low self-esteem group in initial sandplay is significantly more than the number of high self-esteem.(2) The number of family situation with low self-esteem group in initial sandplay is significantly more than the number of high self-esteem group, the number of battle scene is significantly less than the number of high self-esteem.(3) The number of restricted subject and the other subjects with low self-esteem group in initial sandplay is significantly more than the number of high self-esteem group.(4) The number of non self with low self-esteem group in initial sandplay is significantly more than the number of high self-esteem group, the number of self image is significantly less than the number of high self-esteem.(5) The self image of dynamic movement with low self-esteem group is significantly less than group high self-esteem; High self-esteem group self image can better into the sand art.(6) The maker’s could project their self-image on the sandplay. The maker’s self-image could take place transferring positively passing many times sanplay.
