With the recommend of the economic globalization, it has become very urgent that the cultivation of innovative talents with international vision and good geographic literacy. As a science to introduce students to our natural environment, human environment and the relationship between human and environment, Geography undertakes the task of training high-quality personnel who is the times required for. Flipped classroom, this new teaching mode, is gradually introduced into the teaching of different subjects. The practice research is also growing. The current research about flipped classroom is more, but very few specialized study of geography teaching in junior middle school. As a new teaching model, flipped classroom has attracted a lot of attention of researchers from domestic and abroad. How to apply the flipped classroom to the geography teaching successfully is beneficial for the promotion of flipped classroom in junior middle school geography teaching even the whole geography teaching application. Furthermore, the study is of great significance to help guide the geography teaching in junior middle school out of the traditional examination-oriented misunderstanding.This article adopts the methods of literature research, comparative experiment method, questionnaire method, action research method to research on the application of geography teaching in junior high school with flipped classroom. This paper includes five parts.The first part is the introduction. It mainly includes the background, purpose and significance of the study, research status at home and abroad, research contents and methods etc.The second part is the concept and the theoretical basis of research contents. This chapter defines the definition and characteristics of the flipped classroom, as well as the theoretical basis, mainly including geography teaching theory, constructivism learning theory, learning theory, education communication theory, etc.The third part is design of flipped classroom in the geography teaching in the junior middle school. Basing on the analysis of geography teaching principles in junior high school, the writer designed the teaching process, and build a learning platform based on the QQ and the Internet.The fourth part is the practice on flipped classroom teaching on geography in the junior middle school. The experimental method is adopted to conduct the comparative teaching study in two classes of the same level, in which the flipped classroom and traditional teaching model are carried on respectively. Practice results show that the flipped classroom teaching model in junior middle school is beneficial for arousing the students’ interest in learning geography, promoting the study effect and cultivating the appreciation ability of geography. The research results of this thesis provide certain references for the application of flipped classroom in Geography subject.The fifth part is the conclusion. This study shows the place of the innovation of this study and the insufficiency, and makes direction clear.The innovation of the paper mainly has the following points: first,turn design teaching processsuitable for junior high school geography classroom. Second, build the Internet learning platform in flipped classroom. Third, first to compared with the traditional classroom teaching in the academic performance of students and the ability to analyze and solve problems, flipped classroom teaching is superior. Fourth, Provides a reference to the new way of thinking for geography teaching reform in the junior high school.Due to own limitedknowledge level, the research and practice has the following disadvantages:first,the experimental class is limited, and fewer experiment course. Second, due to practice ang study of flipped classroom in geography teaching in junior middle school is not much, the process need to be further optimized. Third, the network platform limitations for using tencent QQ messaging, if there is a special website for students to learn, which will be more conducive tothe practice and promotionofflipped classroom. In the future, I will continue to focus on further study filpped classroom in geography, for the implementation of flipped classroom in geography teaching in junior middle school.
