The curriculum reform of compulsory education stage began to fully implement since the release of "the full-time compulsory education history curriculum standard(experiment draft)" by the ministry of education in 2001, and the textbook edition changed from single edition to different editions. The compilation of each edition of textbook follows the principle of being true and accurate to history knowledge. Due to the difference of the writing staff, different understanding of the curriculum standard and different understanding of the historical event, the compilation for the same historical event will be different in different versions of the textbook. This paper takes “The Northern Expedition” in junior high school history teaching as the research object, to make a comparative study among the four versions of textbook, they are PEP, Yuelu Edition, BSDSX and Sichuan Edition.There are similarities and differences in the four versions of the textbook, while compiling “The Northern Expedition”. The four versions of the textbook embody the logic of textbook compilation, the psychological logic of students and the requirement of new curriculum standard well in the structure, choice of knowledge, layout design, text expressions, images, practice and some other aspects.As for the emphasis of the title statement, the basic content, reading text, and the illustration, there are something different.According to the results of the study, this paper puts forward the following suggestions for the compilation of the textbook. Pay attention to the connection between junior and high school history textbook, add new academic achievement, enrich important characters, mark out the source of the picture, and increase the types of activity courses. At the meantime, when teachers use the history textbooks for teaching, this paper puts forward the following suggestions. Strengthen professional historical literacy, learn to integrate different versions of the textbook content, and make reasonable use of all the teaching resources.
