Special education has increasingly become the mainstream of 21 st century international education ideological trend, while the development of the teaching level is a vital factor to realize the special education. Among the countries with highly developed education, the UK stays in the forefront of the world in training special teachers. This paper treats the special education teachers’ pre-service training development history and characteristics as research object, aiming at carrying out the theoretical exploration and practice researching through the British typical college special teachers’ pre-service training. And then combine the actual condition of our country’s special teacher training with the UK’s, in order to put forward corresponding suggestions for cultivating special teachers in China by discovering,analyzing and summarizing the characteristics in special education teachers’ pre-service training.This paper can be divided into five parts. The first chapter is introduction part,which briefly introduces the research background and significance of this article, the definition of related basic concepts, and the domestic and overseas research status and the research methods of this article. The second chapter is about the development history of special education teachers’ pre-service training, which from the forming stage, integration period to the inclusive education period. This part also briefly summarized the development characteristics of each period. The third chapter specifically stated current situation and characteristics of special education teachers’ pre-service training, which includes training target, training mode, and curriculum and education practice. Combining the typical practice cases, the paper did a further explanation about special teachers’ pre-service training from lateral visual angle. The fourth chapter analyzes the causes for forming characteristics of special education teachers’ pre-service training, and points out feasible direction for the future development. It also made a development direction for future. The last part briefly reviewed our country’s special education teacher’s pre-service training, and put forward suggestions on special education teacher training in China based on the British experience.
