An Real Investigation On College Students’ Collectivism Value Education Of Guangxi Universities

Collectivism comes up to be a realistic problem when it comes to the cultivation and practice of socialist core values in contemporary China, which plays an important role in enhancing national cohesion, constructing socialism with Chinese characteristics and realizing the Chinese Dream. Being the principle of adjusting individual interests and collective interests, collectivism is one of the contents of the proletarian world outlook. Collectivism advocates that individuals should be subject to collective interests, develop freely in the collective and achieve realization of individual interests. Collectivism value, therefore, is a value that emphasizes the development of collective and society, which creates advantageous conditions for the realization of individual interests and the freely all-round development of individuals. Since the reform and opening-up, however, collectivism ideology is confronted with great challenges and even many people are beginning to accept the ideas of individualism due to the influences of multi-values, such as individualism, money worship and so forth. At the present times, therefore, how to hold a correct attitude toward the current situation of college students’collectivism value education under the background of value diversification and how to explore effective approaches to college students’ collectivism education based on analysis of causes have become important issues that should be paid attention to.This thesis is established in the following theory basis:Marxist theory on human nature and individual all-round development; Marxist theory on individual and social relationship; Marxist theory on the mass viewpoint and the mass line; and Louis Raths’value clarification theory. Under the instruction of these theories, a questionnaire survey is done in random among college students from some universities in Guangxi, and a sampling interview is carried on among some of the college students being surveyed. With a full investigation, the current situation of college students’ collectivism value education under the background of value diversification is analyzed from the following four aspects:the overall understanding of collectivism; the understanding of collective interests and individual interests; the understanding of collectivism keeping pace with the times; the understanding of cultivating and practicing collectivism value. Then the causes of the current situation of college students’ collectivism value are analyzed. The results of the questionnaire survey show that college students at the present times are with high consciousness of collectivism. There, however, also exist some problems:some students lacking of collectivism faith; individual consciousness strengthening; collectivism consciousness tending to be weak; shallow understanding on collectivism keeping pace with the times; the deviation problem of college students’ collectivism behavior from their collective cognition. Then the causes of the current situation of college students’ collectivism value are analyzed from the following aspects: the change of social economic system; the challenge of multi-culture; the development of modern network media; the education from school and family; the influence of peer group; and the self-factors of college students.Based on the cause analysis and under the guidance of the principle that people orientation, gradation, demonstration, motivation and individuality are consistent with sociality, this thesis aims to explore various concrete strategies to solve the above problems covering all influencing factors, such as, the country, society, schools, families, peer groups and self-factors. On the aspect of creating a good social environment, some measures are put forward, such as, actively promoting and practicing socialist core values; strengthening cultural construction; enhancing implementation on practice platform; optimizing the environment of network and establishing a suitable online platform for information exchange. On the aspect of classroom education which plays a key role in education, some measures are put forward, such as, strengthening the socialist core values education; changing the traditional "spoon-feed" teaching method; cultivating subject consciousness on students; forming a sound relationship of interaction between the educator and the educated; dividing education in different levels; education with collectivism values in teaching activities; and broadening the channels of education. In terms of strengthening campus cultural construction which plays a role in implicit education, some strategies are proposed from the following aspects, such as, optimizing campus network environment; improving health communication between students and groups; strengthening the construction of dormitory culture, class culture and community culture. On the aspect of family education, some measures are put forward, such as, changing the educational method from parents; cultivating college students’ ability of value choice; exerting parents’ model effects on students. On the aspect of motivating college students’ initiative on self-education, some measures are put forward, such as, enhancing self understanding on collectivism value,forming a value evaluation standard; motivating students to strengthen the awareness of collectivism values by practicing,realize the unity of the individual and society. College students are the hopes of our nation. What they undertake is not only their own mission, but the mission of our country as well.Their values orientation, therefore, is very important to the country’s future development. College students’ values orientation is still in a shapeable period, thus, it is a significant task to educate college students with collectivism values and help them form the correct value orientation in ideological and political education. In this way, we aim to strengthen college students’ collectivism consciousness, instruct them to correctly deal with the relationship between individual and collective, improve their individual quality and sense of social responsibility, enhance their identity on socialist core values and firmly keep their faith in adhering to the socialist road with Chinese characteristics.
