Case Studies Of Social Workers To Help People With Disabilities Improve Social Support Network

With the continuous development of society, care and help the disabled has become the consensus of the community, at present China has a huge number of disabled groups, they and their families in a weak position in society. As a special vulnerable groups, the disabled is not only social workers focus on helping the group, but also is the long-term support object of the society and the government. At present our country fucan career despite some achievements but still far from enough, for there are many problems to be solved, thus to explore new methods, new path of fucan career has become the urgent delay of social work for the disabled. According to social support network theory that people cannot be isolated from the society, development course of every person will encounter some expected and unexpected life events, which requires the resources to cope with the problem, people have stronger social support networks, will be able to better cope with challenges from the environment. The effective use of social support is that social workers assist people with disabilities to solve problems effectively guarantee, so to assist people with disabilities to build perfect social support network, can make them get the support to slove problems. Improve the social support network of persons with disabilities should not only from the start,fully stimulate their potential, but also to create a good environment for the platform.In this paper, Xiamen J community disability groups as research subjects,using interview method, investigation method and literature method and other methods,from four dimension closely related with the disabled person social support: family,friends,government, non-governmental relief organizations.Analyzing the different main body for disabled people’s social support,to understand the current situation of the disabled person’s social support network and to know disabled person’s demand. Survey found that the social support network structure and function is not perfect:single source of support, lack of social support and self support. After social worker analyzing the existing difficulties and requirements of the disabled, using community, group, individual professional social work three methods to realize the expansion of the social support network and improve,through a return visit to understand the improvement of the psychological and behavioral aspects of disabled persons in order to consolidate effect, discussing the achievements and deficiencies after the intervention of social work practice. The activity not only enables the disabled man power and source for amplification, but also make the disabled by passive accept social give to turn to enhance access to resources.. It is effective to improve the plight of the disabled people, meet the needs of disabled people, enhance the quality of life of people with disabilities, to improve the social support network purpose.
