At present, according to the attention of teaching content, narrative teaching in junior high school is still paid great attention to. Nevertheless, the teaching efficiency of narrative teaching in junior high school is not obvious, which even causing students inability in answering questions while they are listening carefully in class. The reasons about this situation is that teachers adopt to incorrect teaching aims, teaching contents and teaching methods during their teaching. Thus there are many unpractical issues, which causes students to spend much time on practice narrative reading with lower practical abilities to some degree and memorize mechanically. Teachers cannot guide students to internalize narrative knowledge points, which leading to their inefficiency in reading and writing, even poor combination between reading understanding and expression ability.In order to solve this problem, the author chooses the materials which have been published by People’s Education Press as research subjects based on the current teaching situation in junior high school. This paper indicates narrative teaching, including the setting of teaching aims, text analysis, the choice of textbook and teaching methods, and optimization of teaching process and so on.The author, according to the existed problems in narrative teaching in junior high school, tries to find an efficient way to optimize teaching process, in order to improve students’ abilities in learning Chinese. It can perfect Chinese teaching design and offer support and valuable reference for Chinese teaching.
