Classical poetry teaching is one of the most important constituent of junior middle school language teaching. It is also a difficult point in teaching.This thesis aims to study the teaching strategies of junior middle school classical poetry to improve the students’ aesthetic ability and literature accomplishment by introspecting the current teaching problem of junior middle school classical poetry teaching on the basis of the PEP edition.This thesis divided into seven parts: First, the connotations and characteristics of classical poetry; Second, the summary of junior high school classical poetry teaching, including the history, the importance and theoretical foundation of the classical poetry teaching; Third, The summary of junior high school classical poetry of the PEP edition; Fourth, the problem of junior high school classical poetry teaching, analyzing problems existing in the junior middle school classical poetry teaching from the teacher, student and teaching three aspects; Fifth, the strategy of junior high school classical poetry teaching, analyzing problems existing in the junior middle school classical poetry teaching then putting forward the corresponding three strategies:( Ⅰ)Improving the quality of teachers,(Ⅱ)Highlighting the subject status of students,(Ⅲ)optimizing teaching methods.
