With the “education equity idea” winning support among the people, theUrban-rural gap in education has drawn more and more social attention and the phenomenonof the “Urbanization of the textbook”, as one of the reason for the gap, has caused heateddebate. The existence of this phenomenon has given rise to the poor teaching quality of therural school on the surface and hindered the development of rural education and therealization of the education equity at the deeper level. So it is particularly important to studythe phenomenonWith village ‘X’as the individual case, this paper has analyzed and discussed thephenomenon of the “Urbanization of the textbook” from five parts by means of bibliographicsearch, questionnaire and interview.Part one is the appearance of urbanization of the Chinese textbook in rural primaryschool. Taking the Chinese textbook as an example, this paper has analyzed the illustration ofthe teaching material, content of text, exercise after class, features characters and otheraspects of the textbook and comprehensively expounded the situation of the “Urbanizationtendency of the textbook”, which paves the way for the reason analysis and countermeasureresearch in the following pages.Part two is about the actual feeling of the teacher and the student of the primary school tothe Urbanization of the textbook. The analysis is mainly conducted by means of thequestionnaire and interview to the teacher and the student to know their adaptation to theUrbanization of the textbook.Part three talks about the consequence of the Urbanization of the textbook, whichincludes the poor quality of teaching, the teachers dilemma between urban and rural areas,learning interest reduction of the student, and the violation to educational equality and so on.Part four has analyzed the reasons for the poor condition of the student in the above primaryschool, which include the stereotyped and backward hardware facilities of the school, thetrain to the teacher ‘s falling behind the need of the professional development of teacher,imperfection of the teacher’s teaching sense and the weak family culture. To find the reason isto study the countermeasure.Part five thinks about the reactive measures for the” Urbanization of the textbook”,which mainly include strengthening teaching ability and quality of the teacher, improvingteaching facility, building and using the textbook fit for the rural reality, establishing ruraltextbook using standard and strengthening rural culture.
