Research On Motivation Of Myanmar Students Who Are Studying In China

Through the rapidly development of the ASEAN Economic Zone, exchanges in economy, cultural among the Southeast Asian countries are increasingly frequent. Among these countries, Higher education has also become an important issue. China and Myanmar have maintained good political mutual trust and friendship. So, exchanges and cooperation in higher education between the two countries has been constantly deepened.The data related to the research, such as the motivation to study abroad and the employment of Myanmar students etc are collected on Myanmar students who are studying in China. Myanmar students in China are investigated as objects according to the seven levels of Maslow’s theory. Based on the psychological needs of self-prepared questionnaire, the survey was conducted on Myanmar students in china. After analyzing the data collected by exploratory factor, reliability trend validity analysis, testing different demographics characteristics, the conclusions are as follows:(1) Motivation for the Myanmar students to study in China, whether the manner in which to divide, self-actualization needs are the most strongest demand, so the vast majority of students choose to return to Myanmar to achieve self-worth.(2) Esteem and Beautiful is the second need for international students study in China.(3) The majority of Myanmar students in China are Burmese-Chinese, only about30%of the people are indigenous people of Myanmar.(4) The vast majority of Myanmar students in China have family businesses, and then followed by civil servants families.(5) Knowledge needs is the weakest of Myanmar students in China.And then from the macro-level and micro-level discuss and conduct analysis of the Myanmar students’motivation to study in China. At the macro level, stable domestic political situation in Myanmar encourages young people to pursue higher education at abroad. Chinese government offers scholarships to Myanmar students for policy support in the economy. Chinese economy is becoming more and more solid, China and Myanmar strengthen trade. In Myanmar businesses field, variety of professional and high-end talents are urgent needed. Culturally, Burmese-Chinese have active dissemination and absorption of Chinese culture, and want their offspring to personally acquire Chinese feelings and Chinese culture. At the micro level, Burma students are hoping to improve their academic standards, improve Chinese proficiency, in order to get better employment opportunities.
