Phonetic teaching has always been the focus of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.As a special phenomenon in Chinese phonetics,the third-tone sandhi is a difficult point in the focus.Both Burmese and Chinese are tonal languages,this particularity will produce acquisition errors for Chinese learners in Myanmar which are different from those in other countries.On the one hand,with the friendly exchanges between China and Myanmar and the development of One Belt And One Road construction,more and more Burmese students are joining the team of learning Chinese.On the other hand,there is few special research on the acquisition of the third-tone sandhi of Burmese students.This paper takes Burmese primary school students in Myanmar as the research object,takes the standard mandarin speakers as the experimental reference,and uses the experimental phonetic software Praat to carry out acoustic experimental research on the acquisition of Burmese students' third-tone sandhi in terms of pitch,tone length and tone intensity.Through this experiment and analysis,we found:(1)Burmese students have a better acquisition of the first-tone and the fourth-tone in acquiring Chinese tone,and the error rate of the second-tone is the highest,students always read it as a zigzag tone.(2)In the combination of “the third-tone + the un-third-tone”,the condition that the first character read as [21] is better than read as [35],some students have not set up the correct third-tone sandhi consciousness and still read it as [214].The better pronunciation of the second character are the first-tone and the fourth-tone,the second-tone and the third-tone are easily confused.In general,the Burmese primary school students in this experiment did not have a good acquisition of the tone-sandhi.Based on the above experimental conclusions,this paper analyzes the errors,and puts forward some targeted teaching suggestions.Firstly,teaching students to master the pronunciation of single tones correctly and solve the problem of the confusion between the second-tone and the third-tone.Secondly,helping students to establish the consciousness of third-tone Sandhi.Finally,helping students to master the third-tone Sandhi with different teaching methods and targeted pronunciation practice.
