As a developing socialist country, China’s construction and rich rely oneducation and talent. The legal education of college students is known to be animportant part of the ideological and political education in China, the goal of whichis to promoting the law awareness and legality of the college students and inputtingnew blood constantly for the construction of China’s socialist modernization.Although the legal education of college students started late and developed slow inChina, it has achieved some results.However, China’s legal education is still in the immature stage of development,and there are some issues in the implementation process, such as the educational ideais backward, the theoretical teaching and practical teaching is disjointed and theeducational content is not deep-going. Therefore, to promote and perfect the currentcollege students’ legal education is a very urgent mission for now. The America is thepioneers of the college students’ legal education, which has accumulated richexperiences in both theory and practice in the last200year. It becomes the model tothe whole world in the field of college students’ legal education. Thus, it is necessaryto fully understand and study the successful experience of American, though whichwe can acquire effectively advices for China’s legal education of college students.This thesis is focus on the comparative study of the college students’ legaleducation between China and America, and trying to promote the development ofcollege students’ legal education in both theory and practice by using the America’sexperiences as reference. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is theintroduction. The second part is Chapter One, which is the theoretical foundation ofthe topic selected, that expounds the connotation, characteristics and goals of collegestudents’ legal education in detail. The second part includes Chapter Two, ChapterThree and Chapter Four, which makes comparisons of two countries’ legaleducational in development process, content and approach. The third part is ChapterFive, which concludes the enlightenments for promoting the college students’ legaleducation in China after the comparison, combined with the current problems existing in the legal education system in China. The enlightenments include threepoints: changing the educational legal concept, perfecting the legal system educationcontents and expanding the approaches of the legal system education. Those advicesshall be helpful for promoting establish a modern socialist country under the law.
