College students’ academic integrity education is an important content of moraleducation in American universities which see the maintaince of academic integrity asadministration. Having been practising academic integrity education for a long time, theyhave formed a series of unique theories and practical experiences. Researching it can help usto better understand college students’ academic integrity education and to use Americanuniversities’ experiences for references. This paper will describe the development, maincontents and basic approaches of American universities, will analyze their characteristics andsummarize some enlightenments.This paper is divided into two parts: the introduction and the text. The introductionincludes background, research situation, research methods, research approach and the relateddefinitions. The text is divided into five parts.The first part combs the three development stages of American college students’academic integrity education: single academic integrity education, extensive academicintegrity education and further academic integrity education according to the materials I havegot.The second part introduces their major contents. The contents are tightly around the goalof cultivating“qualified college students”.Their education is going on through academicintegrity norm education,the basic values of academic integrity education and academicintegrity education on the personality.The third part describes the basic approaches of American college students’ academicintegrity education. In general,the American universities practices the education bycombining curriculum education and general education, combining campus practices andsocial practices and combining the traditional honor system and new honor system.The fourth part summarizes the main characteristics of American college students’academic integrity education: combining the theory education and practice, combining theeducation of educators and the educated, respecting the subjectivity of the educated andbeing good at creating the atmosphere of academic integrity. The last part gets some enlightenments to Chinese college students’ academic integrityeducation through the description of its development,main contents, basic approaches andmain characteristics, and gets some enlightenments.
