It is the requirements of The current language teaching programme for high schoolstudents that Foreign Literature Appreciation is the key point in language teaching, basedon the “Language Curriculum Standard in High School”. It demands that literature educationmust be developed and paid attention to. Pay close attention to the contemporary culture life,respect various culture, absorb the nutrition of human outstanding culture, as obviouslycultural teaching is a essential part of the language teaching. It clearly shows us that ForeignLiterature is a part of world literature, and has own unique and rich implication of thehumanistic spirit, which is beneficial to improving students’ Humanity Accomplishment.However, in the language classroom teaching nowadays, it is a serious mistake to ignore themasterpiece reading-guide in teaching foreign literature, which made students lose interestingin learning the classic literature. This paper tries to adopt effective teaching tactics for themasterpiece reading-guide in order to stimulate interest of students and further understandforeign cultures deeply.The paper mainly is divided into five parts. The first part briefly describes a lot of studiesin foreign literature field, the significance of teaching foreign literature, and put forward thispaper’s main idea. The second part was the introduction of works’ creation background andwork characteristics on foreign literature. This part also tries to build a basic framework forthe whole history of foreign literature to make students know the unique charm of foreignliterature. The third part aims to analyze text and movie clips to stimulate interest ofstudents and help them know well about foreign literature works. Further the text or movieclips reading from its profound content, multiple subjects and rich characters, which maymotivate students to think and understand the essay’s connotation better. And the fourth part,according to three aspects of work theme, artistic sleight of hand, characters, analyzesteaching methods of knowledge transfer on foreign literature to make students realizes thestyle and composition of the works better. The five part show that teaching foreign literatureaims at bringing home to people sense of beauty and cultivating students’ independent andpersonalized reading ability. Also let the students master their respective artistic vocabulary, employ his own comprehensive thinking and raise his subjective tasting ability continuously.In addition, cultural accomplishments and aesthetic judgments of middle school students, byteaching foreign literature, can be improved.This paper tries to puts forward the implementation suggestions of teaching foreignliterature, and provide some good advices for structural designs of teaching foreign literatureas well. It also let us see the situation from a new perspective.
