Classical Chinese is not only our most precious traditional cultural heritage, but thetreasure of our country. As a written language, Classical Chinese recorded the thoughts of ourancestors. As a living fossil of ancient Chinese culture, Classical Chinese illuminates the fivethousand years of Chinese civilization. After thousands of years of refinement, it inherited themorality and cultivated the humanism and culture of the Chinese nation, making it steeped indeep traditional cultural connotation.Students can not only get more knowledge from learningClassical Chinese,but inherit outstanding traditional culture and then propagate the nationalspirit. With the promulgation of new curriculum standards, the value of the Classical Chinesehas been realized by more and more people, and teachers meliorate methods of explaining itcontinuously. On the basis of teaching strategies of forefathers, this paper pays more attentionto how to explain and teach content and main words of classical Chinese.This paper includes three chapters: introduction, body and conclusion.Introduction: in this part, the author will begin with the literary review, which is mainly aconclusion of the studies that related to Classical Chinese. Next, the author will analysis thecurrent situation of the Classical Chinese teaching in Hainan Province’s senior high schoolaccording to the new curriculum standard. Problems such as no interests towards ClassicalChinese among students and teachers’ poor teaching methods make it difficult to improve thecurrent situation of Classical Chinese teaching. Next is the statement of this topic’s meaningand the method to study it, and also the source of the linguistic data. This part will end upwith the definition of Classical Chinese.Body consists of four chapters:Chapter1:Using all kinds of teaching activities to mobilize students’ initiative. Such asrecitation, drama perform, game,stories and so on. Though these methods are nothing new,the author think they are most effective ways to achieve teaching aims according to his or herown experience. Chapter2:It is necessary to let students understand the outstanding traditional culturewhich classical Chinese contains.This context will explore the traditional culture from twoaspects, one is spiritual culture,the other is material culture, and highlight the culture ofloyalty and tea and wine.Students can understand some culture meanwhile promote their spiritand literacy in humanities.Chapter3: Classical Chinese can not be taught without basic knowledge, by making fulluse of idiom teaching, teachers can make students understand more idiom, moreover mobilizestudents’ initiative, thus does good to improve teaching method.Chapter4: There are some interchangeable words in senior textbook.But some of theseinterchangeable words are not real.It can be judged by pronunciation and meaning.
