Nowadays, the world is very concerned about young children’s extracurricular reading problems, and that the ability to read is the foundation and core of all learning ability is one of the basic capabilities of future talent that must be mastered. Our educators are also very well aware that the current time-consuming and inefficient in language teaching and other issues, in large part due to the amount of the missing student extracurricular reading and reading method is not correct. So, we should think about how we can better guide students to develop good reading habits extracurricular and improve reading skills, enrich their knowledge base, so that the students grow up healthily."The new curriculum standards" should be made the primary stage must attach great importance to guide students to extracurricular reading, and the first of the "accumulated rich language" written into the teaching objectives which require attention to the accumulation of language materials, to develop good reading habits, the New Curriculum also clearly defines the primary stage reciting poetry less than150outstanding; extracurricular reading total less than150million words, clearly states:"to actively create conditions to guide students to read more books, and take a variety of forms exchanges reading experience."To achieve this requirement, not just rely on classroom reading instruction texts, more important to rely on a large number of students in extracurricular reading.The purpose of this paper is to study through the South Gate District, Changchun, North Elementary School students and teachers in the form of a questionnaire survey summarizes the status of Primary school students extracurricular reading, analyzing its causes and reflect on the process of language teaching problems have finally raised against of optimization strategies to improve Primary school students language literacy, enhance the professionalism of teachers.This study used a questionnaire survey of South Gate District, Changchun City, North Section270upper primary students were investigated, and the findings were analyzed. On this basis proposes to optimize Primary school students’ Extracurricular Reading, raise the level of Primary school students extracurricular reading instructional strategies.
