As the one of basic skills necessary for the student's development,reading comprehension will directly affect the ability of absorbing knowledge. How to train and improvethis ability should not be limited to the school classroom, but extracurricular reading is also an effective way to improve this ability. Whether in school or family, people tend to attach great importance to train extracurricular reading interest for the primary school students in low and middle grade, however they often ignore to train that for primary school students in high grade, which directly influence the efficient and healthy development of extracurricular reading interest for primary school students in high grade. Aiming at this problem,this paper adopts the literature analysis method, the questionnaire survey method and the interview method to study the student's interest in extracurricular reading.This article uses literature analysis to understand the background of the research, including the issue of the problem, the status quo, the significance of the study, the definition of related concepts, the research process and methods to elaborate the importance of cultivating student's interest in extracurricular reading.On the basis of understanding the overall situation of primary and secondary school student's reading interest in Wenzhou city, through the questionnaire survey to students and parent, combined with the student interview and the teacher interview, the paper aims to deeply to understand the status quo of the extracurricular reading interest of primary school students in high grade via knowing their reading tendency,the breadth of extracurricular reading interest and extracurricular reading habits as well, moreover the paper explore the factors having impact on the student's interest in extracurricular reading from four aspects: the students themselves, teachers, schools and parents..According to the survey, the result showed that students with a strong interest but are lacking self-consciousness for extracurricular reading activities, reading objective with no purpose and entertainment orientation, being without a broad interest and not forming a good extracurricular reading habits. In view of this situation, the paper analyzed the reason through students themselves, teachers, schools, and parents.From the three aspects of education and teaching penetration, school field influence and family education, the paper come up with a strategy to cultivate extracurricular reading interest for high primary school students.Education and teaching penetration refers to understand the status quo of interest and create reading "Recent Developments", develop a reasonable reading plan and effectively guide the reading method; emphasizing on the joint efforts by teachers and parents to raise interest. School field influence refers to carry out a variety of activities to stimulate student interest, strengthen the library construction to make full use of books,strengthening schools' cooperation to achieve resource sharing. Family education refers to create a strong family reading environment to provide a good reading atmosphere, become a qualified "scholarly parents" to improve the guidance of extracurricular reading interest.
