Yu Youren was an important pioneer of Chinese modern national democraticrevolution, he was Sun Zhongshan’s strongest ally, one of the most important Senators ofthe KMT, and his lifetime devoted to propaganda and struggle of Three People. However,he also attached great importance to the improvement and development of education ofChina, and is directly involved in a number of important educational practices, anddeveloped his own unique ideas on education, which has a great influence on Chinesemodern education history. This paper study Yu youren’s educational thought and practice,in order to enrich Yu you-ren’s personal research. This paper is divided into five parts.The first part provides a short overview of the current status of Yu youren’s study,and then discusses the purpose and significance of this study, as well as the value.The second part focuses on the germination and development of Yu youren’seducational thought, which is divided into three sections. The first section tells childhoodof Yu Youren, and it was when his education thought in bud times. The second sectiondiscusses juvenile times of Yu youren’s stand out in learning time, however, he graduallybegan disgust traditional rigid of stereotype system, which is education thought ofdevelopment times. The third section concluds young Yu went to Shanghai to meet hismentor Ma xiangbo, and study in a better atemosphere where his educational thoughtcame from.The third part, which features Yu youren’s educational practice. Divided into twosections. The first section focuses on Yu youren’s time in Shanghai with the foundation ofFudan, public school, and Shanghai University. Second section mainly tells Yu youren’seducation practice activities in home and other places, including foundation of Northwestagricultural college, people treatment School in sanyuan, yuechi county new three elementary school, and other school during the time of Jingguo Army, this was a timewhen Yu’s educational thought connected with practice, after that Yu youren’s educationthought eventually become mature.Part IV focuses on review of Yu youren’s educational thought. Divided into twosections. The first section describes the main elements of his educational thought,including his focus on the spread of education and educational policy-setting, attention tothe contents as well as the compiling of textbooks, education, multidisciplinaryintegration of military to acquire the ability to apply what they have learned, educationand other key ideas. The second section describes the characteristics of his educationalthought, including patriotic backbone throughout their education, democracy andfreedom are important features of his educational thought, using newspaper, poetry andprose dedicated to education.In the conclusion part, we made general comments of Yu youren’s educationalthought and practice, in order to sum up the ideas which should be valued nowadays. Tosummerize the ecellent thought of prodecessors would make our education road widerand wider.
