Study On Hebei Academies In Qing Dynasty

Academy was an unique form of educational organizations in Chinese History. It alsowas an important component of the traditional education system. Hebei Province, known asthe Yan Zhao, had a long history. Men of talent came out in succession. Its culture andeducation had been in a relatively developed level. Hebei Academies came to its heydaythrough a long development form Tang Dynasty to Ming Dynasty. Academies became themost prevalent educational institution at that time. As the model of ancient higher education,Hebei Academies of Qing Dynasty had trained a large number of excellent talented persons,and it also made great contributions to the regional academic prosperity and education’suniversal in Hebei Province.This dissertation takes Hebei Academy of Qing Dynasty as the subject of study toexamine its development in Qing Dynasty. This dissertation is divided into four parts: the firstpart makes a brief introduction of the background of Hebei Academies’ development in QingDynasty; the second part specifically addresses the general development of Hebei Academiesin Qing Dynasty; the third part focuses on the management system of Hebei Academies inQing Dynasty form the three dimensions of organization, teaching and fund; the last part talksabout the school activities of Hebei Academies form the three important aspects of teaching,books collecting and worshiping great scholars.This dissertation attempts to restore theoriginal appearance of the Hebei Academies in Qing Dynasty. It tries to exploit some usefulresources and reasonable factors, and then provides some references to contemporaryeducation of Hebei Province.
