In the context of globalization, international commerce is becoming more and more frequent, and business cooperation is increasing rapidly. This demands a better communication among cooperators. Multi-level and profound cooperation is the trend of the times, and thus contract plays a more and more important role against this big background. Acting as an essential means in cooperation between foreign parties, English contract directly links with the interests of each party, so contract translation is crucial. Contract text belongs to legal English, which is professional. It has law binding character, and of purposiveness, consistency and willingness. If not paid enough attention to, it will provoke legal disputes and damage the interests of parties concerned. For these reasons, translator who specializes in contract translation is not that many, and the quality of the translation work also varies widely. If contacts are translated just in ordinary ways, they might turn out to be informal and with mistakes. Based on the translation work of two contracts, this translation report is expected to have some effects on standard translation and inspirational meaning in specific English contract translation. The source texts of this translation report are two English joint venture agreements. It uses Skopos theory proposed by Hans Vermeer as guidance to analyze its English-Chinese translation process. The translation report is divided into 4 parts. The first part is introduction about the background, aim, significance and practical value of the translation project. The second part presents the principles and standard of contract translation, and introduces the translation theory applied in the project. The third part analyzes and explores the problems occurred in the translation process and the corresponding solutions. It also analyzes difficult points and translation skills one by one. The fourth part summarizes the inspirations from the translation practice, and makes an objective assessment to this practice as well as presents the problems to be solved.
