With the acceleration of the globalization, the businesses between Chinese venture and foreign venture are becoming more and more deepened and the increasingly importance has been attached to the business contract. The business contract belongs to the legislative text with a unique, professional and precise language and complex sentence structure.Joint Venture Agreement(JVA),as a branch of the legislative text, plays an extremely important role. The material in this report are the Commercial Production Joint Venture Agreement and the Metal Mining and Processing Joint Venture Agreement.Under the guidance of Newmark's theory and on the basis of the JVA's translation, this paper classifies the conditional sentences in the joint venture agreement into explicit conditional sentences and implicit conditional sentences. On the basic of these,we came into the conclusion that the conditional sentences in JVA can be translated by way of Chinese modificatory complex sentence and rearranging the order of sentence which includes the original order method and adjusting order method. The explicit conditional sentences in the joint venture agreement are mainly guided by if,in the event that, where, provided that, should, when, unless and the implicit conditional sentences in the joint venture agreement are mainly composed of prepositional phrases, participle phrases, attributive clauses, and subject clauses.Through this translation practice, the author also summarized the specific translation method of different type of conditional sentences in the JVA.Finally, the aim of this report served as a reference for the research about the conditional sentences in the JVA.
