A Practical Report On E-C Translation Of A Cooperation Agreement From The Perspective Of Skopos Theory

Currently, government agencies, large corporations as well as a growing number of emerging companies are eager to cooperate with foreign companies, so there are more and more demands for cooperation agreement translation. Since Chinese scholars started the research and translation of contract text widely and in depth in late 20 thcentury and most of them based on translation strategy of faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance, this practical report aims to study on translation of contract and solves translation problems and difficulties under guidance of the skopos theory. In the field of application translation research, this practical report uses text collection approach and descriptive research approach which all belong to the empirical research methods. This practical report records the author’s thoughts in translation, collects client feedback and summarizes experience in order to put the abstract theory into reality through a project of translation practice. Through confirming the purpose of the source text and summarizing itslexical, syntactic and textual level features, the author analyzes the translation problems, summarizes feasible translation techniques such as addition, omission, inversion, restructuring and transforming the passive voice. This practical report analyzes the process of translation practice and shows the practical translation in order to provide some guidance to translation practitioners.
