This book deals with the multi-cultures of China’s northwestern ethnic minorities, and focuses on the exploration of their development and changes in a new situation of China’s western development drive.The world is under great changes every day and the exchanges between various countries are intensifying. Through translation, the potential target reader will have a better understanding of the history and recent conditions of the ethnic minorities in China. And it is also of significance to spread the multi-cultures to other countries.According to the Text Type Theory of Peter Newmark, the translator classifies the text as informative text, which focuses on the transmission of information and reflection of reality. Therefore, during translation, the faithfulness of the source text and the acceptability of the target reader should be taken into consideration. Thus, the Skopos theory was adopted, with communicative strategy as the main while semantic strategy as the subsidiary in case analysis from lexical, sentential and passage level.
