Translation Report Of The Multi-Cultures Of China’s Northwestern Minorities And Western Development Drive(Section 1,Chapter Ⅰ)

Nowadays, the world is experiencing constant changes and development, and links between different countries are getting closer and closer. With the increasing globalization, China has been carrying out the “Going Global” Strategy; as a result,China’s economy capabilities have got improved step by step, while our culture soft power still has a long way to go. However, China, at present, is still at its young stage in promoting and publicizing its culture, which brings the global community somewhat the lack of understanding and even misunderstanding of Chinese cultural images. It fully shows the importance of the translation of the Chinese culture. The report is based on the C-E translation of The Multi-Cultures of The Northwestern Minority Nationalities And The West Development Drive.The report is divided into five parts. The first part is an introduction of the translation project and the significance from both macroscopic and microscopic aspects;the second part illustrates the translation process, from preparation to conclusion; the third part elaborates the basic translation theory and strategy applied in the project:“Skopos Theory”; the forth part is an analysis of the difficulties occurring during the translation from the explicit and implicit cultural points; and the last part is the conclusion of the translation project and the report, in which the writer got some valuable experience and lesson.
