A Report On Simulated Interpretation Of The Documentary World Heritages In China

In recent years, people have become more and more enthusiastic about films and televisions. As a distinctive form of television, the art of documentary become more convenient to transmit information and express feelings. It is an important media and tool for international exchanges, and it plays an important role in the dissemination of the Chinese culture to the rest of the world.In the light of the Eco-translatology put forward by Prof. Hu Gengshen, the author made a comprehensive analysis on the whole process of the simultaneous interpretation with text practice. Based on the principle, method, evaluation mechanism of the theory. The paper judges whether the interpreter reaches the highest “adaption and selection” through an analysis of the interpretation cases from linguistic, cultural, communicative dimensions under the translational Eco-translation, and recommends certain strategies of interpretation and verifying the guiding value of the Eco-translatology.This paper is about the Chinese-English simultaneous interpretation with text of the two episodes chosen from the documentary World Heritages in China: Yungang Grottos and the Ancient City of Pingyao. It consists four chapters. The first chapter introduces the background significance of the documentary and the overview of the Eco-translatology. The second part presents the whole process of the practice. The third chapter is the main part, introducing the adoption of Eco-translatology in the paper and cases analysis in detail. In the last chapter, the author takes feedbacks from the audience, makes self-assessment and proposes some practical learning suggestions.With such a valuable experience, the author hopes the paper would sharpen interpretation skills and increase the interpretation quality. The outcomes and views in the paper would give some exposure on the interpretation learning and provide certain research material to the relevant researchers.
