This report is based on the author's interest in Leehom's achievements and his report in Oxford.After gaining some experience from the training in simultaneous interpretation,the author attempts to carry out a simulated interpretation of “2016 Honorary Degree Recipient Leehom in Williams College” and puts forward certain coping strategies for solving the difficulties encountered during the interpretation.This report mainly consists of five parts,including introduction,task description,case analysis,relevant reflections and conclusion.The introduction part shows the background and significance of this report.Part two gives a description of interpreting task.It introduces the background information,including information about the speaker,audiences and requirements of the interpreter.It also provides detailed information of the interpreter's preparation and the whole interpreting process.Case analysis serves as the most important part of this report,in which samples of the first version and the last one are compared strictly in accordance with the time line,and also the difficulties that the interpreter encounters during this process and the interpreter's countermeasures are carefully discussed.By putting into practice such methods as conversion,syntactic linearity and omission,the author tries to make the interpreting language fluent.The fourth part describes the reflections gained from this interpreting practice,providing some useful advice to all those would-be interpreters or interpretation activities and then the author makes the conclusion.The author lays emphasis principally on three parts: to show how to make a full preparation;to probe into problems arising from insufficient background information and anxiety;to summarize her own difficulties and raise possible solutions to these difficultiesThrough this report,the author concludes that all interpretation learners should improve their psychological diathesis and operation skills in order to deal with the unexpected challenges in the process of interpreting.
