At present,the research on the relationship between work stress and job burnout has been a hot topic in organizational behavior. Research of Chinese scholars on this problem is mainly to explore the directly relationship between the two variables, but ignore the effect of many intermediate variables, the study subjects is also limited to professionals, such as doctors, teachers and nurses.This study based on the Meijman and Mulder(1998) of the Effort-Recovery Model, psychological detachment as an intermediary variable, to explore the impact of work stress on job burnout.There are 279 young profession to attend the research,using the work stress scale, job burnout scale and psychology detachment scale, and through many kinds of statistical methods, the conclusions are as follows:(1)The work stress of the young profession is above average.Young profession’s work stress are significantly different in gender, marital status, education level, occupation,work type and other demographic variables.(2) The job burnout of the young profession is at a high level in general. There are a large number of people who have severe burnout.Young profession’s job burnout are significantly different in gender, education, occupation and work type.(3) The psychological detachmentof the young profession is above average.Young profession’s psychological are significantly different in the sex, the education level, the occupation and other demographic variables.(4) The relationship between work stress and job burnout is partly mediated by psychological detachment.Finally, this paper discusses and combs the research results, and put forward some management suggestions and expectation for family, work, and young profession.
