Teenage literature focuses on the development of teenagers, and hopes to reveal their lifestyle through teenagers’ psychological acts and usual life. Because of the different cultural background and growth environment, the theme of teenage literature in China is quite different from that of foreign countries. The introduction of foreign teenage literature is a positive way to enrich the similar field of literature in our country.John Green’s works focus on the growth of teenage people and are quite readable for teenagers. This translation practice chooses chapter one to five of his work An Abundance of Katherines as the source text. The novel also chooses teenagers as the main characters. The book is of reference value for people to know more things about teenagers.The report first introduces the background information of the translation practice, and then gives a detailed specification on the translation strategies under the theory of aesthetics of reception the translator had used while translating, such as domesticating method, restituting, omission, amplification and ambiguous translation to solve the difficulties, such as the translation of culture-loaded words and the consistence of the discourse style while translating. Through the translation practice, the translator have learned that one should grasp a strong knowledge of language and character of both source language and target language and a good writing skill, and have an deep understanding of the cultural background of the two different languages and also the ability to combine the translation theory and practice to achieve a good translation works.
