As for sentences, the thesis author uses the corresponding translation methods to deal with the typical difficulties which appear in the text to make the logic simpler and easier for children to understand. As for dialogues, since this text contains a lot of dialogues, the thesis author divides the dialogues into two types:dialogues between adults and children and dialogues between children. In order to transfer American cultural information, The thesis author translates something which is difficult to understand into Chinese that children is easy to understand or something they are familiar with and which exists in daily life so as to make it easier for Chinese children to understand American culture. From this translation practice the thesis author learns that a qualified translator should have solid language skills, a wealth of cultural knowledge and some knowledge of translation theory to do a good translation job and they also need to constantly improve their translation skills and professionalism in translation practice.
