The material of this translation practice is selected from introduction and the first chapter of Misbehaving:the Making of Behavioral Economics. This book is written by Chicago professor Richard Thaler who is the founder of behavioral finance. In the process of translation, some translation theories are applied into the translation practice following the principle of faithfulness and coherence. The selected material is very professional and it involves much economic knowledge to look up and understand. By recording the whole translation process, the translator wants to provide references for translators at home and abroad who are working on translating this type of material.This paper mainly consists of three parts:The first part is introduction, which mainly describes the main content of the translation material and the background and significance of this topic. Research status and practical significance of behavioral economics at home and abroad are also represented at this part.The second part is the main body of the paper, which includes three chapters. Chapter One is the task description on translation. The translator will give a brief introduction about the content of the selected material, background information, author and so on. Chapter Two is the description on translation process. It involves task preparation, implementation of translation and proofreading. Chapter Three is the case analysis on translation. This chapter mainly includes some cases in translation and the use of translation strategies.The third part is conclusion, which mainly summaries the previous exposition and the translator’s experience and harvest in this practice activity.
