Vocabulary teaching is an important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Idioms,as a special group of the Chinese vocabulary,is not only what the overseas students show interests in,but also a difficult point for them to understand and use.Therefore,the teaching of idioms in senior teaching Chinese as a foreign language is very important and necessary.And teaching materials plays a role in linking the teaching and learning process,it reflects the most fundamental two directions of the language teaching:what to teach and how to teach.Therefore,in my paper,I choose to systematically study the idioms collected in the advanced composite materials for teaching Chinese as a foreign language,which said to be with a broad range of application and a good overall evaluation,attempting to provide references for the compilations、exercises and presentations of idioms in textbooks in the future.This paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the review of the origin、the value and the research for the paper’ s selected topic. The second chapter is about the level analysis of idioms and idioms’ amount applied in the Boya Chinese(flying),which has carried on the qualitative analysis,quantitative analysis as well as the corresponding level vocabulary analysis for all idioms contained in three volumes of the textbook.The third chapter is the study of the origin of the idiom category in the Boya Chinese(flying),separately from myth fable 、 historical stories、poetry statement、slang、foreign culture five aspects in the analysis of the origin of the idiom which the teaching materials included. The forth chapter is the comment analysis of idioms in the Boya Chinese(flying),using a more scientific 、novel theory as the resource support,making a comprehensive review about the interpretation models,the content of the interpretation,interpretation forms,the problems existing in the definition,giving some suggestions about idioms on the arrangements for the teaching materials. The fifth chapter is about the analysis of the idioms exercises in the Boya Chinese(flying),on the base of the overall understanding of the idioms exercises in three volumes textbooks,analyzing the idioms exercises in details,putting forward some proposals and suggestions in arrangement of idioms exercise in the teaching materials.The sixth chapter is the research about teaching strategy of idiom in Boya Chinese(flying),this part puts forward four specific ways of teaching idioms:in combination with meaning and semantic interpretation、source category teaching method、communicative teaching method、game teaching method,it has great importance on improving the quality of teaching Chinese as a foreign language idioms.
