The Modal Verbs are a small class of verbs,Although the number is few,the use of them is frequent.It has the characteristics such as a large amount of righteousness,an unfixed use of negation and a cross between the meanings of similar words.so it has always been a difficult point in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Chinese learners often have different types of errors when they learn modal verbs.Some of them come from unreasonable arrangement of textbooks.Based on this,this article selects the two sets of more representative textbooks "Boya Chinese"(second edition)and "NEW PRACTICAL CHINESE READER"(second edition),modal verbs,notes and exercises in the text has carried on the collection investigation and analysis,In order to find out some problems of teaching material arrangement and make reasonable Suggestions on these problems.Then,compare the teaching materials with the modal verbs in the outline,examine the teaching materials on the implementation of the outline.Through the analysis of two sets of teaching materials,the author hopes to provide new ideas and suggestions for the arrangement of verbs in the textbook.This article is divided into five parts.The fist part,it mainly talks about the basis and significance of topic selection,review,main idea and methods,which provide the bedding of article.The second part,analyze the content and the edition of these two books.I investigate the investigation modal verbs through texts,annotations,exercise to compare the differences between these two books.The third part,read the textbook arrangement from the outline.In this article I choose two sets of usually used outline,the “new Chinese proficiency test syllabus “and the “Chinese level vocabulary and the outline of Chinese characters”.I analyze the number and sequence of the verbs,and then compare the contents.All these things I do are beneficial to watch the execution of outline.The fourth part,recommendations for Outlines and textbooks.The proposal for the outline is mainly from the name of the verb,the order of the meaning,the quantity and so on.the teaching material aspect mainly from its appearance order,the annotation,the practice setting and so on.The fifth part,conclusion.
