Language is an essential tool of social intercourse. Within the communicationbetween each others, languages is always evolving. Foreign languages enrich nativelanguages in many ways, such as pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Prominentlywe have loanwords. English rooted loanwords have the vast majority of the loanword inChinese. and have been studied by many scholars. The study of loanwords not only hassignificant academic value for Chinese linguistics but also plays a crucial role in theinteraction between Chinese and western cultures.The introduction part talks about the definition of loanwords. I look into loanwords inseveral parts such as text logy, etymology, lexicology and culture differences. Then Istudied the history of loanwords.Part two describes the interaction between Chinese and other culture systems and notedthat there are four significant eras in Chinese history which massively introducedloanwords. With the help of the previous research we can categorized loanwords into twotypes: direct borrowing and direct use. I elaborate it in part two.Part three introduces English loanwords which enriches Chinese vocabulary andincrease synonyms in modern Chinese. On the other hand, English loanwords is not verywell standardize and have limitations. This part also talks about the localization processduring the introduction of loanwords.The fourth part emphasizes on the teaching method for TCSL. They are1Thesignificance of loanwords teaching.2Teaching situation of loanwords in TCSL.3Thestrengths and weaknesses for Chinese learner.4The teaching method for TCSL.5Theteaching method for loanwords.Based on previous analysis I studied loanwords in daily use and the basic principle onteaching including using normatively, pronunciation, normatively,writing normatively.In the end, this essay analyses the development trend of TCSL and then summarizesmy point of view, and made reasonable prediction.
