With the development of Xinjiang’s economy, society and politics, China’s communication with the outside world become more popular. This leads to larger demand of interpreters. Although Xinjiang located in inland of China, it’s special geo-advantage and development momentum has attract people’s attention. More and more international conferences and academic seminars have been held here. This report aims to analyze the author’s performance in one task, and draw lessons from it.This particular task is the First International Seminar on“Multiculturalism and Education”held in Xinjiang Normal University on June21st-22 nd, 2014. There are120 scholars and professionals from China and some professionals from the UK and other 7 countries. I was presented as an interpreter for Doctor Zhang jianping from Zhejiang university.This report consists of five parts. The first part gives introduction to the Forum and the major tasks. The second part is about preparations. The third part is the main body of this report, which analyzes the process of translation from the perspective of the Schema theory. The fourth part illustrates problems and solutions during the task.The last part shows what lessons were drawn from the whole interpreting practice.
