This interpretation report is based on the author’s simulated interpretation practice of "President Xi Jinping’s Speech at Headquarters of UNESCO". Initially, the simulated interpretation practice was finished during the preparation of CATTI(China’s Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters). The first part is the task description. It mainly introduces the background information, source and requirements of the task. The second part is the process description, which describes some preparatory work during the pre-interpreting process, implementing process and post-interpreting process. The third part is theory description, which studies the Effort Model Theory and Schema Theory, especially the Schema Theory and the application of it. The fourth part is case analysis. In this part the author first lists problems appear mainly in three stages of consecutive interpreting respectively, such as listening & analysis barriers, note-taking problems, and key and difficult points of reproduction, then she analyzes causes of different problems and shows how she uses different coping strategies and methods to solve specific problems under the guidance of schema theory. In addition, the author also puts forward some suggestions to tickle similar problems. The last part is the practice summary, which summarizes experience and enlightenment the author has gained in this task as well as unresolved problems and limitations of this report.Combining Schema Theory with interpretation practice of the author, this report mainly studies the influence of schema on consecutive interpreting and puts forward some effective interpretation strategies coping with problems and difficulties appear in this task.
