An Analysis Of Technical Text Translation From The Perspective Of Text Typology

Based on Katharina Reiss’s theory of text typology and the translation of The Logistics Composite Model:An Overall View, this thesis is aimed at making a research on the translation methods of technical texts. Specifically, the first part introduces that the research object of this thesis is technical texts, and then analyses its research background as well as its research significance. The second part gives a brief introduction of Katharina Reiss’s text typology and a detailed explanation of informative text as well as its functional features. The third part analyzes the linguistic features of technical texts from the perspective of lexicon, sentences and discourse. Taking the technical report The Logistics Composite Model:An Overall View as an example, the fourth part concludes methods of E-C technical texts translation, which based on the combination of the translation principles of informative text with the features of technical text. The last part makes conclusion on the former discussion and gives some suggestions about technical translation.
