Analysis On Thesis Topics Of MTCSOL

With the increase of China’s international influence,more and more overseas people are bee oming interested in learningChinese language and there appears a Chinese language heat, but One of the problems following by is the insufficiency of teacher resources. To cultivate a great number of talents who are professional trained, the Academic Degree Commission of the State Council determined to set up the MTCSOL.In recent years, MTCSOL has developed very fast, many experts and scholars did a lot of research on how to build the major and made quite a number of important achievements. But there is too little research has been done on the thesis of MTCSOL. Thesis writing is an important link of fostering the high level postgraduates. For a master degree, postgraduates have to submit and pass the defense of their theses. The topic selection of thesis is the beginning of the whole thesis writing. Only after the determination of thesis topics, can students carry out the follow-up research and then complete the thesis writing. The topic directly affect the value of the thesis. Theses of MTCSOL are tightly combined with their teaching practice. Research on the theses can help the relevant institute get a handle on the real situation in a certain area These researches can provide more reference for the popularization of international Chinese teaching.In this thesis, I analyzed191thesis topics of the postgraduates of MTCSOL, and tended to explore the characteristics. After that, one questionnaire survey aimed to investigate the factors affecting the degree thesis was conducted and40students of Class2012responded to the questionnaires. This thesis has five chapters, in the first chapter, the background, the object and method, research summary’of present situation of studying were introduced. The second chapter introduced the general situation of class2009-2011students of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and analyzed the influence on the topic selections caused by the professional background, students internship practice. The third chapter specifically described and analyzed191master’s thesis topic, and tried to find the characteristics of these topics. The fourth chapter conducted a questionnaire survey on student of class2012to explore the factors influencing their topics. According to the feedback of chapter2and chapter3,1came up with some suggestions on how to help students improve the quality of thesis topic selection. The last chapter is the conclusion part which summarized the research contents and main findings, then pointed out the shortage of this thesis and looked forward to the future research on theses of MTCSOL.
