In order to adapt to the new situation of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and international promoting of Chinese language,the academic degrees committee of the state council has established the Master's Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(MTCSOL).Although it is a professional master's degree,the writing of dissertation is also an indispensable link.Therefore,how to improve the quality of dissertation is a question the author has been thinking and exploring.In this paper Confucius Institute Scholarship(CIS)students of Sichuan Normal University in the past ten years were selected to make a comprehensive historical analysis of their theses,and the rules were summarized,so as to provide constructive suggestions for the cultivation of students with Confucius institute scholarship and provide beneficial reference for the cultivation of MTCSOL.In this paper a comprehensive analysis of the nationality,enrollment year and undergraduate major of MTCSOL(Confucius institute scholarship students)in Sichuan Normal University was made,and further analyzed the professional training program and proposed improvement strategies.The thesis classifies 92 academic theses from 24 countries and it was found that these theses have some commonalities that should be paid attention to,such as that obvious characteristics of nationalization of topic selection,and the topics of Sino-foreign comparison that students from different countries are accustomed to.Secondly,the paper forms focus on thematic research,while the research report,case study,teaching design and teaching experiment report are relatively rare.Problems on punctuation,citation notes,logical structure and other writing norms are also common among students of this major.In addition,although the paper research methods are diversified,overall trends the single,which mainly literatureresearch method,and some of the paper research methods are not appropriate.What is more thought-provoking is that although the contents of these theses widely involve second language acquisition,teaching Chinese as a second language,Chinese culture and cultural communication and the comprehensive quality of international Chinese teachers,the research depth is obviously insufficient.In addition,although there are many countries involved in their theses,the scope of investigation is relatively narrow,which also indicates that researchers should expand the scope of investigation to strengthen argument.Based on the investigation and analysis,the author put forward a series of concrete suggestions.First of all,the master training units should make efforts to optimize the curriculum setting according to the training objects,strengthen the assessment of course theses,monitor the writing process of degree theses in real time,constantly improve the professional master degree awarding system,and build the most optimized academic platform for teachers and students.Secondly,the thesis instructors should fully understand the students of different countries and implement individualized teaching.Teachers regularly communicate and discuss with students,and urge students to timely revise the thesis writing,pay attention to the monitoring of the thesis writing process,so as to ensure a steady progress.In addition,students' own efforts are also crucial.Expanding the number of Chinese literature reading for students,carefully writing research reviews and carefully choosing research topics that are suitable for their own characteristics are the key prerequisites for thesis writing.In the writing stage,the training of students' basic skills in Chinese language expression and the improvement of comprehensive Chinese proficiency is constantly strengthened and striving to improve their professional academic theory level are the guarantee to improve the quality of their theses.
