A Study On Legends Of Dadaogong

The legend of folk gods as an important carrier Fujian folk beliefs, play a role on the dissemination of folk beliefs since ancient times. Through the popular and lively legends, the religious ideas and spiritual pursuits in legends have been passed down orally generations after generations and created a unique folk culture of Fujian and Taiwan. However, academic research for the legend of folk gods have been mostly concentrated in the textual criticism of ancient literature, but few systematic collation and analysis for the contemporary legends of folk gods. Dadaogong regional influence public as one of the largest folk gods in Fujian and Taiwan region, this article will take Dadaogong as an example, through the collection of contemporary legends of Dadaogong, in order to find the find the relationship between the "collective memory" constituded by legends of Dadaogong and the local culture of Fujian and Taiwan.
