In this study, with the revised desirability of control scale, we not only did a survey on the junior college students’ desirability of control, sense of control, anxiety and depression, but also discussed the relationship between their desirability, sense of control and their anxiety and depression. We did this research in the hope of providing colleges with some relevant reference to improve college students’ mental health and making positive contributions to the psychological services provided for the junior college students. In our study, a random sampling method was adopted and 900 students from colleges of Ningxia Hui autonomous region and Guangdong were chosen as respondents. By using exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, we revised the control scale. We also did a survey among the respondents using the Chinese version of the revised scale of control(DC), the control scale and self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and self-rating depression scale(SDS).Conclusions drawn from our study are as follows:1. The Chinese version of the revised scale of control(DC) shows good reliability and validity, and can be used as a valid assessment tool to measure the junior college students’ desirability of control.2. As for desirability of control, there is significant difference among junior college students from different regions, professions and grades; as for sense of control, there is significant marginality among junior college students from different grades. There is serious depression and anxiety among college students and as for depression and anxiety, from the perspective of demographic variables, there is significant difference among the junior college students.3. Desirability of control shown on general events can have greater effect on anxiety and desirability of control shown on general events can have direct or indirect influence on depression. Desirability of control and sense of control can better predict the degree of anxiety and depression.4. Control deviation, anxiety and depression showed significant negative correlation.5. Control deviation and anxiety can significantly predict the degree of depression.
