The Experimental Research On The Impact Of Desirability Of Control,temporal Distance And Probability Estimation On Anxiety

Control desire is one of the human’s original instincts.The desirability of control is one of the basic emotions we often feel in our daily life.The modern Chinese dictionary defines the desirability of control for do not making the people play any activities outside the scope, or make it do something according to the rule.Burger and Cooper call the human control of life and the motivation for desire for control.Everyone has desire for control, they want to control some things or people. Desire for control is a kind of satisfaction to the individual’s inner needs.The individuals who has higher level of desirability of control has a strong control of motivation in the life,they will have strong feelings of anxiety and depression if the event is not in their own power of control.When a person feels that he is in control of the external environment, they desire to prove their ability to meet the desire, so they will have a great positive emotions.At present, the research on desirability of control in the Western countries has been mature, and the related researching theories are rich, but the domestic research on desirability of control is very few, and the related researching tools are very few.The measurement tools on control desire is very few. There are Burger and Cooper preparation of the control desire scale and Angelique preparation of the leader’s desire to control.In order to analysis the status of Chinese college students’ desirability of control,the author construct the scale of desirability of control on the basis of the domestic and foreign research, at the same time,the author combined with the survey and interview results to make a experimental research on the Impact of desirability of control, temporal distance and probability estimation on anxiety.After adopting three-factor mixed experimental design to study Chinese college students’ estimation on anxiety, the research conclusions are as follows:(1) The questionnaire of college students’ desirability of control includes four dimensions:self-control, control of others, the control on the situation, and avoidance of being under-control.(2) Anxiety is affected by different personality traits, high level of desirability of control of the individual feel more anxious in the face of uncertainty situations.On different time levels, the anxiety experience of individual is different, and the degree of anxiety is more intense in the near future time.The degree of probability estimation has a significant difference in the effects of anxiety on the subjects, high level of desirability of control of the individual estimates the experience more intense anxiety in high probability.There are interaction effects between the desirability of control and the probability estimation,and the interaction effects between time distance and probability estimation.
