Comprehensive Research For Management Of Beijing Opera Folk Troupes In Modern Times(1840-1937)

Chinese theatre arts has a long pedigree, which gradually evolves into avaluable wealth of traditional Chinese culture. As important carriers of Chinesetheatre arts, troupes play a vital role in the development and spread of the Chinesetheatre arts culture, which could thus be described as a crucial organization forChinese theatre arts’ creation and production, apart from places where Chinese theatreartists and groups make a living.Along with the changes of dynasties and social system, such as the CourtJiaofang in Tang Dynasty and GouLan Washe positioned in townspeople in SongDynasty, also the Family Music Troupe in Jin and Yuan Dynasty and commercialtroupes in Ming and Qing Dynasty, troupes have been active in Chinese theatre artsstage appearing as different organizations and performances for thousands of years,deeply nourishing the development of Chinese theatre culture.Since Qing Dynasty, Chinese theatre arts embraced the golden period ofdevelopment. Represented by Peking Opera, Chinese theatre arts of this era peakedboth in performance level&scale and social status&recognition of Chinese theatreartists in the feudal period. As the performance institution for Chinese theatre arts,folk troupes expanded both in number and size, and formed a more rigorous andregulated management module, laying solid foundations for the prosperity anddevelopment of Chinese theatre arts.Based on the Peking Opera folk troupes in Beijing in modernChina, this paper focuses on the management module and performance operation ofthe subject from the angle of management by text study, analyzing its developmentand changes in the background of modern society and discussing the effect on thedevelopment of modern Peking Opera Arts brought by the changes oftroupe system.
