Purpose: The medical personnel are the key to develop health services, improving the job satisfaction of medical staff can help improve the quality and efficiency of health care services, providing strong security personnel for development of medical and health institutions healthy. So how to improve the job satisfaction of medical personnel is an important part of the hospital administrators and health policy makers today. By discussing the relationship between the medical staff job satisfaction and its influencing factors, providing some data support for improving the job satisfaction of medical personnel and providing a theoretical basis for health policy in Tianjin. Content: The study on the relationship among the basic situation of medical staff, practicing environmental background of the practicing medical staff, the work intensity of medical staff, and medical staff satisfaction in Tianjin.Methods: The survey was conducted in 16 districts and counties in Tianjin, including all third-grade hospitals, second-grade hospitals and a portion of the sample township(neighborhood) in all community health centers and rural health centers. Each hospital drawn 20 clinicians, 10 nurses; each community health service centers and township hospitals drawn five clinicians, three nurses, two public health personnel. If the samples number is insufficient within the true personnel needs, extracting the staff according to the actual number of personnel. The survey includes a total of 1,876 medical personnel in Tianjin. Data was entered by using Access, analyzed by SPSS Statistics 17.0 software package.Results: The majority are female medical personnel, accounting for 69.4%; 30-40 year-old medical personnel is 721, accounting for 38.4%; over 60 year-old only four, representing 0.2%; undergraduate course are 1015, representing 54.1%; graduate degree above are 221, accounting for 11.8%; annual income between 48,000 and 60,000 are 570, accounting for 30.4%; annual income above 60,000 are 247, accounting for 13.2%. Medical personnel working in hospitals are 1265, accounting for 67.4%; the number of clinical medical professional category is 1088, accounting for 58%; 1696 medical staff have formation, accounting 90.4%; 610 people in medicine, accounting for 32.5%; on the average, 977 working weekly time isbetween 40-70 hours, accounting for 52.1%; 972 per month have the night shift(not including home listening classes) on the average, accounting for 51.8%; 1187 people think they do not have too much pressure, accounting for 63.3%; 888 medical staff believe that the patient respect them, accounting for 47.3%; 846 medical staff believe the degree of respect from society is so-so, accounting for 45.1%; 838 medical staff feel that patients’ trust to them are commonly with their services in general, accounting for 44.7 %; 912 medical staff believe that the current doctor-patient relationship is poor, accounting for 48.7%; 1282 medical staff did not receive patient abuse or physical violence in the last six months, accounting for 68.3%; 1560 medical staff think patients will be satisfied with their services in most cases, accounting for 83.1%. Medical personnel qualifications, work organizations, professional category, sections, abuse \ violence are significantly associated with their job satisfaction(P <0.05), and were positively correlated. Medical personnel income, working time, night shift times, job stress, patient respect, social respect and trust of patients, the doctor-patient relationship, patient satisfaction, and their job satisfaction were significantly associated(P <0.05), and negatively correlated. Among the factors affecting the job satisfaction of medical personnel, the influence in descending order is : social respect and trust of patients, patients with respect, work pressure, patient satisfaction, abuse / violence, work organization, working time, night shift times, degree, doctor-patient relationship, professional categories, income, the department, and age.Conclusion: Improving the practice environment from four factors: doctors, hospitals, patients and social staff; better performance appraisal system of medical personnel from the performance appraisal program and medical services fees; to continue to deepen the reform of primary health care institutions, and improve the health care system constantly, to provide a good policy environment for medical staff in Tianjin.
